Attendance Policy

Students who are at least six years of age, or who have been previously enrolled in first grade, and who have not yet reached their 18th birthday shall attend school for the entire period the program is offered, unless exempted in LEGAL ATTENDANCE COMPULSORY ATTENDANCE as found under Policy Manual in the EPISD website.

EDUCATION CODE 25.093

A student is required to attend school under the compulsory attendance laws and fails to attend school on ten or more days or parts of days within a six-month period in the same school year or on three or more days or parts of days within a four-week period.

TARDINESS

Students are expected to be in the classroom by 8:00 a.m. Tardiness is not allowed due to disruption to classroom instruction. Students are who are late need to report to the office and receive a tardy slip. A level I may be issued to students who accumulate a total of 3 or more tardy slips. Students who accumulate 3 tardies in a week will stay for Friday Detention. Detention is from 3:15 - 4:15. Students will work on homework or on computer programs iStation or Success Maker. Transportation will not be provided to students in detention. Parents are responsible for transportation.
