How to use iPADs to capture Videos, Teleprompt anchors, edit videos or utilize green screens

Equipment needed:

  1. 2 iPads

  2. 2 iPad stands

  3. Possibly a remote microphone (optional)

  4. Teleprompter App from App Store (Parrot Teleprompter App, Teleprompter Pro Lite App, etc)

  5. iPad with WeVideo App or other Video Editing Software. You can also send the video to a laptop and use Movie Maker software to edit your videos.

Job Descriptions

  1. News Reporter - finds all the news items that need to be written up or used for the newscast. These items can be other videos, photos, announcements, weather items, and calendar events.

  2. News Writer(s) - Multiple folks may be responsible for supplying the written scripts that are entered into the Teleprompter for the News Anchor to read on camera. The Main Editor can provide the edits for the final product. All writers can "SHARE" a Google Docs to put their news items in. Use the Google Drive App on the iPad to open the document. Copy and paste the news stories directly from Google Doc into the teleprompter App.

  3. News Anchor - Delivers the news on camera using "open body" language, well-practiced script delivery, and excellent pronunciation, projection, and diction.

  4. News Editor - takes RAW video (A-Roll shots) and ADDS titles, credits, music, photos (shared in Google Drive) and cuts out mistakes and bloopers. The Editor makes a finished product. The Editor might have Assistant Editors that provide photos, music, or other secondary video pieces (B-Roll shots).

  5. News Producer - Makes sure everyone gets their jobs down on time. Uploads video to New Feed (Youtube channel).
