Play a fun place value game to help you with your understanding of place value. Choose your level at the start of the game.
You will need: a set of number cards (a deck of cards, UNO cards or you can make your own if you don't have any).
Deal the cards into large piles for each player.
Level 1: draw two cards each (playing with tens)
Level 2: draw three cards each (playing to hundreds)
Level 3: draw four cards each (playing to thousands)
To begin play, each player turns over the top card from each of their piles. The player with the number of highest value wins the battle, placing all of their own and their opponents cards into a prisoner pile.
Repeat until all of the cards have been played. The player with the most cards in their prisoner pile is the winner.
