This is a project you can build and design yourself. You can be as creative as you would like.
You will need: squared paper or regular paper with a ruler and pencil (you need to be able to measure the sides), colored pencils, Lego.
First, think of something you would like to design.
This could be anything, a house, a mall, a theme park, any type of building or area you would like to design.
Optional: build it from Lego first.
Next, map out your design on paper. Squared paper will make it easier, if you would like a challenge use a ruler and pencil and measure each side.
Then, find the area and perimeter of your design.
Remember:
Area = length x width
Perimeter = + all the sides.
Finally, finish your design uisng color and labelling. You can upload to Seesaw to share with your class and teacher.
Need a challenge?
Can you create another design? Compare your 2 designs, which has a larger area? Which has a larger perimeter? Do you notice anything?
