Day 5, Session 3, of the Faculty Development Program (FDP) commenced at 2:00 PM. The Resource Person for this session was Mr. Adithya M D, Research Associate, Neuronics Lab, Department of Electronic Systems Engineering, IISc, Bangalore. Prof. Nazia introduced the esteemed resource person, Mr. Adithya M D, creating an engaging atmosphere for an informative session.


Mr. Adithya M D's presentation centered on the IoT (Internet of Things) Computing Paradigm, exploring various facets of this evolving field. Participants gained a deeper understanding of the IoT computing paradigm, highlighting its significance in the digital age. The concept of edge computation was elucidated, showcasing how IoT devices process data locally, reducing latency and enhancing efficiency. The session delved into the integration of AI at the edge, enabling intelligent decision-making within IoT devices. Mr. Adithya M D discussed NPUs, specialized hardware for accelerating AI workloads, showcasing their relevance in IoT applications. Participants were enlightened about the benefits of implementing Tiny ML in IoT devices, including reduced power consumption and enhanced real-time processing capabilities. The presentation included a comparative analysis of Tiny ML with existing technologies, highlighting its advantages and potential applications.
