Inaugural Function

INAUGURATION:

The Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "Internet of Things (IoT): Exploring Applications and Innovations" sponsored by ISTE Karnataka Section and VTU and organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Yenepoya Institute of Technology was inaugurated at 9:30 AM on September 11th, 2023. The Chief Guest for the session was Dr. Niranjan U C, Research and Innovation Director, Manipal Dot Net, Manipal. 

Prof. Nazia A M served as the Master of Ceremonies (MC) for the event. The prayer at the event was led by Ms. Spandana and Ms. Suha Students of 4th semester ECE Department of YIT. Dr. Prasanna Kumar C, Professor and Head of the Department (HOD) of ECE and the Convener of the FDP extended a warm welcome to the attendees. There was a ceremonial lighting of the lamp done by the dignitories on the dias and an external participant was called to light up the lamp. 

Dr. Shashank M Gowda, Coordinator of FDP provided a brief overview of the Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Internet of Things (IoT): Exploring Applications and Innovations"   and its objectives. Prof. Nazia introduced the Chief Guest for the event. 

Dr. Niranjan U C, the Chief Guest, delivered a talk on Research Unicorns and Start-ups in the field of IoT in Karnataka and the rest of the world. He emphasized the importance of research and start-ups in the IoT sector. 

Dr. R.G. D'souza, Principal delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the importance of offline FDPs in building human connections for knowledge sharing. 

Prof. S. V. Prasad proposed the vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all the participants and organizers.
