Mary Alampi is an English Language Development teacher and the Student Council Adviser at Ypsilanti Community High School. Before joining Ypsilanti Community Schools, she taught English Language Arts and History for 20 years in Florida. A graduate of the University of Michigan and certified in ELA, History, ESOL, and Reading, she is a huge fan of YA Literature and enjoys hooking her students on reading.
Mary loves etymology and finds the intersection of languages fascinating. Although only fluent in English, she is working to grow her understanding of Spanish, French, and Italian.
In her spare time, Mrs. Alampi loves to cook, read books, and enjoy nature. She lives in Ypsilanti with her husband, two sons, and her basset hound.
