Purpose:
To create interesting images where the main subject is SNOW!
Use creative problem-solving skills to create spectacular images!
To practice compositional strategies: Thinking about light and perspective:
What is composition? What is perspective? What are your lighting options?
The mornings that I take the bus are always really beautiful, but specifically this morning right after the really big snow was extra pretty. The snow was basically untouched, and had ocean-like indentations from the wind during the night. I thought that this was really beautiful, and I took this picture at around 7:10AM right in front of my porch. I thought that the early morning light really made it look even more beautiful and even resemble waves in the ocean.
This photo was also taken that morning, and I was thinking about the sunrise in the back of the house and the hill when I took it. I thought that this was a cool photo because of the monochromatic aspect of it, and the white of the house with the white of the fresh snow and then the pop of color because of the sunrise. I really like this picture because I think it captures the calmness after a winter storm really well, and how pretty snow and other parts of nature are.
I took this photo in the afternoon closer to sunset time, and I really liked the composition of this photo. The tree is covered in snow and the it sort of looks like the clouds blends into the snow, which is a cool perspective and why I did it from a lower angle. The sun shining through the clouds was a really cool light source in my opinion, and having the tree as the main focus of my picture was a pretty good choice, I think.
