“Reflecting on my goals for the semester”
I think I did reach my goals this semester because I used my digital camera a lot and got really comfortable using it. I haven't used it in the past and I learned a lot about all the different manual settings and how to set up the lighting and focus.
What were your biggest successes for the semester? What aspects of this course/assignments are you most proud of? Respond by citing specific examples and explain how they impacted your learning.
I am proudest of the decaying/destruction assignment. This was one of the first assignments this year and I wasn't that good with my camera yet. But I think I did pretty well, mainly because of what we have been learning in class about manual settings. It was getting dark so I had to constantly change my camera settings, which gave me a lot of practice photographing with a digital camera. The most crucial aspects of this class that affected my learning the most were the bi-weekly assignments. Most of these bi-weekly assignments were pretty broad. These assignments forced creativity and a lot of experimenting with different subjects, changing angles, lighting, settings etc. I also think these assignments were the most fun to do because there were so many different ideas I had. Overall this was one of my favorite high school classes and I learned a lot about photography and worked hard and became a better photographer.
I hope to improve using the focus on my camera and getting different perspectives to take more interesting photos. I think assignments like close- up photography would help me with this because you have to get the focus right for the perfect picture. I also want to learn how to use my camera I havent used it much in the past.
