Purpose:
To express yourself using the concepts of surrealism;
To learn about surreal artists such as Salvador Dali, Renee Magritte, Frida Khalo and contemporary photographers: Rachel Baran, Laura Williams, Manu Pombrol;
To continue to explore advanced Photoshop tools to create a seamless, convincing surreal self portrait.
Surrealism: the principles, ideals, or method of producing unbelievable imagery or effects in art/literature/film/theater by means of unnatural or illogical contrast and combinations
Overall, Frida Kahlo and Rachael Baran have pretty different styles in art. For one, the way they produce art is different. Frida Kahlo uses paints while Rachel Baran uses photography. Kahlo likes to turn herself into different things or paint multiple versions of herself. Baran does things somewhat similarly, but she does it in a way that makes it look like it's out of a dream or a movie. Both artists work seems more realistic than the others in different ways

This video goes through someone's process of how they make surreal self-portraits and I think it would be helpful to look back on if I need the help.
This video was helpful because it helped me think of more 'out of the box' ideas.
