Two important concepts that I’ve learned this semester were the photography assignment and the color assignment. The photography assignment helped me take different perspectives of items and widen the range of things I take pictures of. Before I would take pictures of the same few things but I obviously couldn’t do that for every single color so I was forced to take pictures of other things. The color wheel assignment helped me get a deeper understanding of what some terms mean. Yeah, I knew what complimentary colors meant before the assignment but while doing it, it helped me understand more which colors WERE complementary. With analogous colors, I already knew what it meant but I didn't know the word for it and the assignment helped give me the word for it.
The assignment I am most proud of is the painted self-portrait. Looking through all of the assignments, it was easier to see which assignments I was the proudest of and the self-portrait just happened to be the one. The impact it has on my learning is that it helped me draw/get an outline of faces that would look more realistic. Before, I wasn’t really able to do that, but now after the assignment, I can at least do it somewhat better. It also helped me with how to do different values in paintings/drawings to make it seem like it wasn’t all flat. When I was drawing before, I would make it either all the same color/value or barely any difference.
