Steven Meisel is a popular fashion photographer. He received popularity with his work in Vogue but shoots for other brands such as Louis Vuitton and Calvin Klein. Meisel began his career as an illustrator for Halston, a position he held while also teaching illustration at Parsons The New School for Design two nights a week. His photography career began when Oscar Reyes- a booker at Elite Management- asked him to shoot some of his models for their portfolios. He was born in New York City and went to school at Parsons which is also in New York City. Steven Meisel is very influential and is known for his provocative .and 'controversial' photos. When he was younger, he found inspiration in magazines but now he finds inspiration in everything, and his style is constantly changing because of it.
