To create a still-life drawing that demonstrates understanding of angles & ellipses in perspective, along with using a chosen and conscious mark-making technique to describe form;
To understand value by creating a good range of values between black & white to help make the objects appear 3D;
To demonstrate quality craftsmanship and good composition skills in a drawing.
Artists Studied: Henry Moore, Giorgio Morandi, Vincent van Gogh, Winslow Homer, John Whalley
The type of marks that I used for my drawing most closely resembles hatching. The artist that is most close to mine would be Henry Moore. This kind of technique was easy for me to sho different values.
I notice that the placement and angles in the final still-life look a lot more convincing than the pre-instructional drawing. I learned how to make the angles and placements more accurate so that when you look at the drawing compared to the actual still life, it looks a lot more realistic.
Necessary skills to make this more convincing would be perspective, angle placement, and volume. Everything if not done well can make it look bad or not as conceiving as it could be.
