Laptop Borrowing Guidelines
1. A currently enrolled student of good standing with the library (no outstanding fines or liabilities for library resources) can borrow a laptop for free from the 2nd Floor, Circulation Counter, Library Annex.
2. Only one laptop at a time may be borrowed by a student.
3. A laptop may be borrowed for up to 4 consecutive hours but cannot be brought outside of the designated library area.
4. Devices are available on a first come, first serve basis. Reservations are not accepted.
5. Upon check-out and return, the device will be examined with the borrower to ensure that all parts are operational.
6. Property stickers must not be defaced, tampered or removed.
7. Borrowers should take the necessary precautions for the care and security of borrowed equipment.
8. Users are solely responsible for the security of personal data or files. Use of external storage devices is recommended.
9. Gaming and pornographic sites are strictly prohibited.
10. Malicious mischief such as tampering with equipment and property stickers and deliberate access of viruses and other malware will cause a user to be recommended for disciplinary sanctions.
11. Any equipment malfunction should be reported immediately to the library personnel.
12. Laptop must be returned in person by the borrower at due time, not later than 1 hour before closing.
13. All components, like carrying cases, power adapters and cables need to be returned at the same time.
14. Any stored data or information will be erased after the devices are returned. Units will also be reformatted regularly.
15. A borrower is solely responsible for any loss or damage. Replacement costs will be charged as applicable.
Fines And Penalties For Lost, Stolen, Damaged Or Misused Laptops
Misuse - ₱200.00 per hour (or a fraction thereof) of total use
Overdue - ₱100.00 per hour (or a fraction thereof) of use beyond 4 hours
Loss or Damage – maximum of ₱30,000.00 for laptop (but not below ₱7,500.00), maximum of P 4,000.00 for each accessory (but not below ₱1,000.00)
Suspension of Library privileges until full payment of charges.
