We spent 5 days in Italy with 18 students in February 2026. We visited a school that has got two campuses, one in Gambara and one in Gottolengo.
During our mobility in Italy, our students took part in a highly enriching cultural and educational experience within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme. Throughout this stay, they had the opportunity to work alongside students from the host institution, especially strengthening relationships with those who will visit us in May. This collaboration fostered strong interpersonal connections and laid the foundation for continued cooperation between both schools.
The experience allowed students to deepen their understanding of cultural aspects, exploring Italian traditions, heritage and daily life while sharing their own culture. This exchange significantly contributed to their cultural awareness and helped them develop a stronger sense of belonging to a shared European identity.
From an educational perspective, the mobility promoted the development of key competences established in the European framework. Students improved their multilingual competence by using English as the main communication language and being exposed to Italian in real-life contexts. They also enhanced their digital competence by learning how to use technological tools responsibly, critically evaluating information and reflecting on safe online behaviour.
In addition, students developed personal, social and learning-to-learn competences through teamwork, cooperative tasks and reflection activities. Working in mixed international groups encouraged communication, respect, adaptability and problem-solving skills. The experience also contributed to their understanding of scientific, mathematical and technological thinking through observation of different teaching methodologies and participation in classroom activities.
The programme included a variety of tasks such as school integration, participation in lessons, collaborative projects, and cultural visits in Brescia. These activities combined experiential learning with academic development, allowing students to connect knowledge with real-world contexts.
Overall, this mobility has been a highly cultural and enriching experience. It has strengthened international collaboration, contributed to the internationalisation of our school, and improved the quality of our educational offer. Most importantly, it has provided students with meaningful learning experiences that promote cooperation, intercultural understanding and active European citizenship.
This mobility has represented a key step forward in the internationalisation of our school, strengthening our participation in the European educational space and establishing meaningful, long-lasting partnerships with our Italian colleagues. The collaboration with students and teachers has not only enriched our educational perspective but has also opened new opportunities for future exchanges and joint projects, contributing to the continuous improvement of our school’s quality and educational offer.
At the same time, the experience has reinforced the purposeful and critical use of digital tools. Students have developed greater awareness of how technology can support learning, communication and collaboration when used responsibly. They have also learned to evaluate information critically and to understand both the opportunities and risks of the digital environment.
All the knowledge and experiences gained during this mobility will be directly integrated into our school’s bullying and cyberbullying prevention plan. The emphasis on digital citizenship, respectful communication and intercultural understanding will help us promote safer online and offline environments. Strategies such as fostering empathy, encouraging responsible use of technology, and strengthening peer collaboration will be incorporated into preventive actions and educational activities. In this way, the impact of the mobility will go beyond the experience itself, becoming a lasting contribution to students’ well-being, inclusion and the creation of a more respectful and aware school community.
