High Quality Subject Curriculum Design (Primary) - the intention is to align curriculum design in Primary schools to similar documentation as used in secondary schools. This is work in progress and scheduled to begin in summer term. *
Curriculum Design (Intent) is of high quality with subject curriculums having been designed to ensure that content is covered, revisited where appropriate, and is sequenced in the right order. Curriculum intent statements articulate how we expect students to experience learning in this subject.
Curriculum Implementation is of high quality with 5 year overviews describing the content that will be covered year on year. Planning for progress docs make clear how subject content within an expedition will be delivered and are designed to surface important ideas such as subject misconceptions, prior learning and specific subject. The Planning 4 Progress doc is our hinge document which outlines how the designed curriculum is delivered in our classrooms and it aligns with our teaching and learning model.
Curriculum Assessment (Impact) is of high quality with us looking at curriculum impact in several ways. Firstly this is done through TSL analysis of assessment data in their subject gradebooks. Trust Subject Leads analyse the grades from commonly agreed (and moderated) assessments across secondary schools to look for patterns and ask any questions arising of Subject Faculty Leads where necessary. At the beginning of each term Trust Subject Leads analyse exam performance and use this as part of process of developing Key Priority Area doe subject improvement. Each subject also has an annual subject review carried out by Trust Subject Leads and senior staff to look at the extent to which the designed curriculum in manifest in our classrooms and in student work. This also informs the process of creating annual subject Key Priority Areas.
