The last major empire of Mesopotamia is a time ruled by a group of people called the Assyrians. The Assyrians lived in northern Mesopotamia, at the foot of the Taurus Mountains. Because they were traders, they were well known throughout Mesopotamia, and they became rulers of a vast land. What do you think was needed to control a vast empire in the Fertile Crescent.
