The Rosetta Stone
The Rosetta Stone is a primary source from ancient Egypt. Historians found the stone in 1799, and quickly realized that it contained three different kinds of writing. By comparing the three texts, it was learned that the Rosetta Stone provided important information about the deeds of a young Egyptian ruler.
