In this course, we will explore the formal and conceptual issues of the contemporary practice of drawing in order to understand its pivotal importance as a foundation for the visual arts and as an art form in and of itself. Work will be done in a variety of media and with a number of different approaches. Perceptual drawing, or drawing from observation, will be an important focus of our work throughout the class.

This class is designed for students who currently have good drawing skills. It is a beginning painting class which gives student an opportunity to work exclusively with painting media, such as watercolor and acrylic. Students will be geared towards portfolio and show quality work.

This class is for students who have taken Painting 1 or Art 1030 in high school or have shown proof of painting experience to the teacher. In this class, students will be given opportunities to further their painting skills. Students will be working with watercolor and acrylic paints, and other painting media will be introduced, as well. We will be doing more advanced projects with a focus on three dimensional form, good overall design and good painting techniques. Students will learn and mimic some Art History and Contemporary Art styles. Students who take this course will have awesome paintings they will be proud of by the end of the semester.

Digital Media Advanced is a course designed to teach the process of planning, instructional design, development, and publishing of digital media and interactive media projects. Digital Media Advanced focuses on developing advanced skills to plan, design, and create interactive projects using the elements of text, 2-D and 3-D graphics, animation, sound, video, digital imaging, interactive projects etc.
These skills can prepare students for entry-level positions and other occupational/educational goals.

Description: This is a basic photography class covering the complete overview of photography, taking the student from the darkroom to digital. This course will cover the history of photography; basic concepts of the SLR and “point and shoot” digital cameras, which includes image capture, editing, and image output. Students will also do computer work learning the basics of the Adobe Photoshop program.
