Don't forget to keep an eye on the calendar for updates and important dates!
Not only is it October now, but it's also Thanksgiving this week! This is a great time of year in the school to reflect on all that we have accomplished so far and to think about the work yet to come. It has been a great opportunity to have so many great discussions and learning, but the best is yet to come!
I am thankful to all the wonderful families that have continued to support our learning and program. We thank you for the encouragement and care. Thank you!
Enjoy the weekend with family and friends!
Keep working hard and ask your friends if you aren't sure!
Let's buckle up and get ready for ride!
PD Day - Friday, October 10, 2025 - NO SCHOOL
Thanksgiving - Monday, October 13, 2025 - NO SCHOOL
We are on our way with reading and using our symbols. This past week, a bookmark was sent home to complete with their name and the symbols for reading on the other side. This is a great conversation starter about our reading program to start the year. This week, we resume our Phonemic Assessments with the second part.
This week, we will apply our learning from descriptive words and sentences to our writing. The use of adjectives and adverbs will be important for our learning and to help with conveying our ideas and understanding. This will lead us into our Passport Explorer project starting this week.
We will continue reading, and the program will continue this week with self-selected reading using guiding symbols to track our learning. We will be reading various articles to help us ask simple and complex questions and understand better how to answer different types of questions.
SPELLING: WeSemaine 3 - La lettre «n» devient «m»
La lettre «n» devient «m» devant les lettres «b», «p» will continue our weekly word list for a spelling test at the end of the week. Each list will contain various words with a common phonemic theme. Lists will be provided on paper on Mondays and will also be shared on Google Classroom for students and on my classroom website. Please help your child review the words and help them prepare for the test on Friday. Ten words will be chosen at random for the test. GOOD LUCK! The words can be found here.

La lettre «n» devient «m» devant les lettres «b», «p»
Our library days will be DAY 2. Library bags will be provided, and students will select French books to bring home to read.
The start of our learning will be asking deeper questions for research and formulating mind maps that will allow us to prepare our research. Our focus will be on Famous artefacts and how they impact our understanding of the world around us. We begin our presentations this week! Thank you for your support!
