Don't forget to keep an eye on the calendar for updates and important dates!
What a great first couple of days! It has been great getting to know everyone in our room and learning more about our class! The smiles have been contagious and the expectations are high!
There has been a lot of routines and schedules to learn for everyone - including me! We will keep working hard on our routines and learning about the expectations in our classroom.
This year, we won't just be confined to the walls of our physical classroom; instead, we'll embark on a virtual adventure, traveling through the vast world of knowledge and discovery together. Our destination? The land of curiosity, creativity, and growth!
As we begin this adventure, here are a few things to keep in mind:
Open Minds: Our classroom is a place where questions are encouraged, and curiosity is celebrated. Don't be afraid to ask questions, challenge ideas, and explore new concepts. The more we question and explore, the more we learn.
Collaboration: Just like any great journey, we'll work together as a team. Collaborative learning is a key part of our adventure, so get ready to connect with your fellow explorers and share your thoughts and insights.
Diversity of Perspectives: Our group is made up of students with unique backgrounds, interests, and experiences. This diversity is our strength, and it will enrich our discussions and learning experiences. Be open to new perspectives and ideas.
Embrace Challenges: In every adventure, there are challenges to overcome. Learning isn't always easy, but it's through facing challenges that we grow and become stronger. Don't shy away from them; embrace them as opportunities to learn and improve.
Respect and Kindness: Just as we respect the places we visit when travelling, we must also show respect for one another. Kindness, empathy, and respect will be the foundation of our interactions.
Fun: Learning is an adventure, and adventures should be fun! Expect engaging lessons, exciting projects, and numerous opportunities to enjoy the learning process.
Our Google Classroom will be our hub for all our adventures this year. Here, you'll find assignments, resources, and a space to connect with your fellow explorers. I encourage you to actively participate, ask questions, and share your thoughts.
I can't wait to get started on this journey with all of you. Let's make this year one filled with exploration, growth, and memorable learning experiences. Together, we'll discover new horizons and expand our knowledge in ways we never thought possible.
Buckle up and get ready; our adventure begins now!

Meet the Teacher Night - Thursday, September 18 - 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM
We are going to get started with our French Language Learning getting comfortable with reading and writing. We will begin slowly, looking at building confidence and getting our learning up and running. We will be looking at using dictionaries to help us with our writing and get into reading by choosing the right books for us. Our first few writing tasks will connect to our Classroom Theme of Exploring and Inventing. Using this theme, we will be creating a personal flag to learn more about who we are, our preferences and our lives! We will write about who we are and what we can bring to our classroom!
Our reading program will start this week with self-selected reading using guiding symbols to track our learning. We will start slow with our learning and work our stamina up to read for longer periods of time.
Our library days will be DAY 2. Library bags will be provided and students will be selecting French books to bring home to read.
The start of our learning will be asking deeper questions for research and formulating mind maps that will allow us to prepare our research. Our focus will be on Famous Inventors. We will look at various Canadian and World inventors and their impact on our society.
