Prospective applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of English as a Foreign Language should have at least a master's degree and two years of relevant, verifiable work experience. Those who have a doctoral degree ( Ph.D. or Ed.D., etc.) can apply without relevant work experience.
Assistant professors typically teach up to 20 contact hours per week, most of which are first- and second-year skills-based courses for non-English majors. There are many other opportunities, though.
Applying to work in Korea can be a legthy process, especially if you are currently overseas. From the initial screening, through your visa issuance and your arrival, someone from the hiring team will be available to help you.
Whether you're applying for a Fall start date (late August/early September) or a Spring start date (early March), the process can take several months to complete.
