Woosong University is a specialized university that provides curricula based on practice and theory. Woosong University is part of the Woosong Educational Foundation, which was established in 1954 and is comprised of Woosong University, Woosong Information College, Woosong Language Institute, Seodaejeon High School, Woosong High School, Woosong Middle School, and several other institutions.
Woosong University also has three international schools, SolBridge International School of Business, Endicott College of International Studies, and JW Kim College of Future Studies, where classes are conducted solely in English. In addition to the international colleges, we have four schools including, including the College of Railroad Transportation, College of Software Convergence, College of Hotel and Culinary, College of Health and Welfare, and a Graduate School.
Located in Dong-gu, Daejeon, Republic of Korea, we are one hour south of Seoul via high speed train (KTX). There are more than 13,000 students and 780 professors at Woosong University.
Of course, most of the students on campus hail from South Korea, though international students also comprise a significant part of our student body. We have around 85 different nationalities represented in both our undergraduate and graduate degree programs!
Our students major in subjects such as railroad transportation and engineering, digital media, hotel management and culinary arts, and disciples related to nursing, childhood development, and health and welfare.
Many of the students in our General English Program (GEL) are Korean, though we do often have students from China, Vietnam, and other countries in those classes who are learning their major in Korean language. In addition, English and other General Education courses are taken by international students in our international schools.
South Korea is a very photogenic country, with stunning mountain and ocean scenery. Some estimates say that South Korea is made up of 70% mountains and, as a penninsula country, has a coastline of 15,282 km.
Nestled amongst various peaks in Dong-gu (literally meaning 'East District') in Daejeon, our campuses are very beautiful and are home to various buildings and facilities set amidst our clean and green campus. You can find the location of the (main) West Campus in KakaoMap, a popular South Korean map service, here.
There are over 100 native English professors employed on campus, as a way of introducing you to campus and our programs, we wanted to show you a view of campus from our professors' perspectives.
Thanks to our professors and other colleagues for taking the time to introduce the campus to everyone! Special thanks to our Instructional Technology Coordinator, Robert Helvie, for all the backend work to make this website happen.
