You should complete the bursary application as soon as possible after commencing your course to ensure you receive an award as bursary funding is limited and payments cannot be guaranteed.
No bursary applications will be accepted after the May half term unless there are extenuating circumstances.
All communication regarding your bursary application and any award made to you will be communicated to you through your college email.
Please make sure you regularly check both your inbox and your spam box for bursary updates
All Bursary Payments are linked to your attendance. It is essential you maintain a minimum of 90% attendance in order to continue to receive financial support.
Payments will be based on your attendance during specific periods of time immediately prior to the scheduled payment dates rather than on your overall attendance. This information will be published at the beginning of the year but is available below and also available at the Student Services Centre on your campus.
This will give you the learner an opportunity to approve on their attendance and will not prevent them from receiving future awards if attendance improves.
All learners are expected to follow the College's 'Student Code of Conduct', as stated in the student handbook and student contract.
Failure to comply with this may result in your bursary award being stopped or suspended
Learners who have not received a payment should contact a member of the Student Services team for more information in the first instance.
Learners whose applications are unsuccessful, or who have a query about their bursary allocation, may appeal the decision. You are required to submit this in writing to Student Services within 10 days of receiving the decision via the Student Services email: studentservices@wlc.ac.uk
Please make sure you include your name and college ID number on your appeal.
The appeal will be considered by a member of the Senior Management Team and the outcome of the appeal will be final.
