If you are aged 20+, have a gross household income under £30,000 or are in receipt of income based benefits and meet the normal residency requirements, you may qualify for some financial help with the cost of Ofsted registered childcare.
You will be responsible for paying for your childcare until your application has been approved and both you and your childcare provider has signed a College Childcare Contract. Payments will be backdated to the start of your course or when your childcare started within the current academic year once your application is successful.
1) The college will pay a contribution towards the cost of your childcare up to a maximum of £50 per day per student.
2) Payments will only be made for days on which you are timetabled to be at college,
3) The college will pay for childcare in term time only and payments will not cover half terms, holidays or childcare deposits.
4) All payments will be made directly to the childcare provider and payments will only be made to Ofsted Registered Childcare Providers i.e. Nurseries, Childminders or After School Clubs.
Learners who receive support with childcare will not qualify for additional support with books and course materials but may request support to help with the costs of their travel expenses to college.
There is limited funding for childcare support and this is available on a first come first served basis. We suggest that you apply as early as possible for this support.
