16-19 Vulnerable Bursary

Learners who meet the following criteria may be eligible for a bursary of up to £1200 per annum:

• In care as a Looked After Child

• A recent Care Leaver

• Receiving Income Support, or Universal Credit because they are financially supporting themselves or has someone who is dependent on them and living with them such as a child or partner

• Receiving Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payments in their own right as well as Employment and Support Allowance or Universal Credit in their own right

Evidence of eligibility will be required, either in the form of a benefit award notice or written confirmation from the Local Authority confirming Looked After Child or Care Leaver status.

*Learners aged 19 or over on the 31st August prior to the start of the academic year are not eligible for bursaries for vulnerable groups.
