West London College has a dedicated Looked After Children and Care Leaver Coordinator to ensure that learners who are either currently in the care of social services, or who have recently left care up to the age of 25, are well supported while they are studying with us and have access to a range of support services and enrichment activities.
Our ambition is to ensure that every care experienced young person has the best possible experience while studying at the college makes good academic progress successfully completes their course and is able to progress in the direction they choose.
As well as providing support, advice and guidance directly to our Looked After young people the Coordinator provides a single point of liaison at the college for social workers, virtual schools, keyworkers, foster carers, YOT case workers, personal advisors and others involved in the care and support of these young people.
We can offer one-to-one support from members of our pastoral team to help you overcome barriers and achieve your goals
We can speak to your tutor, social worker/key worker on your behalf and enable them to support you at meetings
We can refer you to specialist support and advice within and outside of College
We can help with any issues stopping you from attending college, achieving your qualification or progressing onto a higher level course or into training or employment
