Imagine a gender equal world.
A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.
A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive.
A world where difference is valued and celebrated.
Together we can forge women's equality.
Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.
Whether deliberate or unconscious, bias makes it difficult for women to move ahead. Knowing that bias exists isn’t enough, action is needed to level the playing field.
Are you in? Will you actively call out gender bias, discrimination and stereotyping each time you see it?
Will you help break the bias?
Cross your arms to show solidarity.
Strike the IWD 2022 pose and share your #BreakTheBias image, video, resources, presentation or articles on social media using #IWD2022 #BreakTheBias to encourage further people to commit to helping forge an inclusive world please also send your images to a.littlejohn@wlc.ac.uk
Race Equality Week
Race Equality Matters was formed in response to the Black Lives Matter Movement to turn declarations of commitment and support from organisations and individuals into meaningful change in racial equality both in the workplace and in society.
Race Equality Week is an annual UK-wide movement uniting thousands of organisations and individuals to address the barriers to race equality in the workplace.
The events of 2020, including the Black Lives Matter movement and the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on ethnic minority communities, has heightened public consciousness of race inequality.
Now there is a need to galvanise and maximise impact through a nationwide collaboration for real change.

Enrichment
Happy New Year!!! I hope you had a lovely break and are looking forward to the term ahead :)
As you are all aware, the way in which we study, work and socialise has had to change. It's been a while since we have been able to run extracurricular activities or engage in groups outside of our specific classroom bubbles. However as we enter 2022 we are starting to see some of our freedoms returned as restrictions loosen and we begin to get back to a sense of normality
With this in mind the college is keen to kick start an Enrichment programme that is fun, engaging and has something for everyone!!!
Please complete the Enrichment feedback form to give us an idea of what you would like to take part in this academic year.

Christmas Jumper Day
On Friday 10th December millions of people in the UK will be putting on a Christmas jumper to help raise money for Save The Children.
Here at WLC your Student Union will be encouraging you to do the same, they will be doing a collection on each site this Friday so we can raise money to help those in need and spread some Christmas cheer!
It really is simple, all you have to do is….
Wear a Christmas Jumper on Friday 10th December
Donate £1 or £2 to help a child in need.
Feel fantastic because you supported a great charity!
Don’t have a Christmas jumper? Well that's ok too, you can still help support this great cause by donating whatever you can :)
