If anyone in the household has COVID symptoms and/or are awaiting COVID test results, EVERYONE must stay home until cleared to return.
Any students displaying symptoms during the school day will be sent to our isolation space (along with their siblings) to await pick up at door #14 on the blacktop.

Health forms for all new students are still required as well as the dental exam requirement for second grade students due May 15, 2021. You can find these requirements here.
If your child is absent for any reason (even if they are enrolled in Enhanced Remote Learning), they MUST be called in to the attendance line and the reason for absence (including any symptoms of illness) must be given. Messages can be left on the attendance line 24/7 at 847-512-6150.

WHEN SHOULD I GET VACCINATED?
You should get a flu vaccine before flu begins spreading in your community. It takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies that protect against flu to develop in the body, so make plans to get vaccinated early in fall, before flu season begins. CDC recommends that people get a flu vaccine by the end of October. Getting vaccinated later, however, can still be beneficial and vaccination should continue to be offered throughout flu season, even into January or later.
Children who need two doses of vaccine to be protected should start the vaccination process sooner, because the two doses must be given at least four weeks apart.
If you and your child have not yet gotten a flu shot, please call your doctor to make an appointment or get one at your local pharmacy!

It’s that time of year…illness:
With the return to school and increased interactions/sharing of germs, we are seeing the usual increase in illness. We truly appreciate your partnership as we strive to support our students to remain as healthy as possible. Please remember, children may return to school once they are 24-hours fever-free without use of medication, and 24-hours free of vomiting or diarrhea.
Thank you for continuing to report communicable illness; when a report is received, a grade level notification letter is generated. The custodial staff also performs an enhanced cleaning of the affected room. All students at Central are regularly encouraged to wash their hands and cover their coughs. If you have any questions about which illnesses to report, or general questions regarding whether your child is well enough for school, please don’t hesitate to contact the school nurse or your pediatrician’s office.

We are also seeing the return of reported cases of lice. Please make sure to check your children at home at least once a week. Regular checks at home are the best way to catch lice early on! For more information regarding lice, please click here. Make sure to notify the school for any discovered cases of lice and remember that students must be checked by the nurse to ensure they are lice and nit free before they can return to school.
