Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
It's been a short week but we always manage to pack a lot in! Year 3 continues to explore the rainforests. This week we watched video clips and found animal facts on "The Virtual Rainforest" site, where we could see and hear how animals move and live in the Nicaraguan jungle and answer quiz questions on what we had discovered. We are classifying animals, thinking about the features different groups share and reading about vervet monkeys, taking notes and transferring the information into longer reports. We are researching using Epic Books online, a fantastic source of texts for children, as well as actual books. In Maths we tackled word problems for fractions and reviewed all of our fraction knowledge. We are still celebrating Diwali and for PSHE we are recognising different kinds of teeth and analysing their different functions. It was time to check out our celery sticks and see if the dye had successfully travelled up the xylems and if the conditions they were left in affected their performance. It sort of worked!
Have a lovely weekend.
