With summer approaching, and outdoor spaces becoming more and more tempting, many children and teens will be excited about throwing themselves into sports!
They won’t be alone either as there are many upcoming sporting events in the calendar this year, including the Women’s Euro Football Championship and the Women’s Rugby World Cup.
Participation in sport offers numerous benefits. Parents recognise that engaging in physical activity can promote not only better health but also emotional well-being, giving children the opportunity to connect with others.
Whatever sports your child enjoys, use these Tooled Up resources to help support them to reach their potential.
For children doing organised or competitive sport, it’s important for them to get the right nutritional help at home. Our resource Nutrition for Young Athletes has all the information you need and plenty of tips for a healthier diet for all children.
2025 might not be an Olympic year, but older children and teens will enjoy the inspirational stories in our downloadable resource on Olympic Values. It encourages reflection and discussion on key Olympic and Paralympic values including respect, excellence and determination.
The reality of sport is that at some point, we all lose. Losing is one of life’s most important lessons as it helps to build resilience. Developing Resilience to Losing provides a host of tips to help children foster this important skill.
