So lovely to welcome everyone back and hear their holiday adventures. We wrote a lively recount of them in English as well as continuing our work with newspapers. We had fun writing our own articles and interviewing each other for quotes. We are employing the column method of subtraction with exchanging in Maths and investigating bones in Science, carrying out a boisterous experiment to determine whether people with longer femurs can jump further. They can't! This helped us to devise our own active experiments, where we ensured it was a fair test by keeping conditions the same while we measured throws or kicks and compared them to the size of our body parts. We started our new Geography project by looking at a map of Britain and locating Wimbledon and are charting the best route from school to Wimbledon Tennis in preparation for our visit. In celebration of Cultural Heritage Month, we enjoyed some fantastic reggae music and in Drama we created new freeze frames from the Theseus story. For Classics we wrote our own versions of Perseus and Medusa and we learnt the French words for rooms in the house. And that was just the first week back!
Have a happy weekend.
