Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
On Thursday, we celebrated World Book Day and Year 2 did not disappoint, with an impressive array of story book costumes on show! The children thoroughly enjoyed listening to three stories of their choice during our school-wide ‘Big Read’ morning.
In Maths this week, we focused on statistics, which included sorting objects, using tally charts, Venn and Carroll diagrams to collect and sort information, and interpreting frequency tables. In English, the children created some superb comic strips of their own Aisha the superhero rescue stories. In Science, we set up an investigation to explore conditions for growth and the pupils made predictions about what they thought would happen to each of the seeds we planted. We explored the travels and adventures of explorer Ibn Battuta in History and learnt about the climate and weather in Kenya, with the pupils choosing what items they would pack for a safari trip.
Have a lovely weekend – we hope you are able to make the most of the milder weather and sunshine!
