Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
It’s hard to believe we’re already in the penultimate week of the school year! In Maths, we’ve been tackling the tricky topic of fractions. The children have worked hard to represent fractions on fraction walls and number lines, compare different fractions, find fractions of amounts, and solve a variety of fraction problems. In English, we’ve continued developing our monster poems, with the children creating some wonderfully spooky and imaginative versions of their own! Our History lesson took us back in time as we explored two postcard accounts of seaside holidays from the past. The children did a fantastic job comparing and contrasting these experiences with holidays today. In Geography, we built on our knowledge of oceans and seas and created colourful and informative posters all about Bournemouth. The highlights of the week was certainly Wednesday’s performance at the New Wimbledon Theatre, where the Year 2 children gave outstanding performances as part of the KS1 and Sparrows choirs. Their confidence and enthusiasm on such a grand stage were truly inspiring – congratulations to all involved! As we approach the final days of the term, we’re looking forward to celebrating the children’s achievements with plenty of end of term fun!
Have a wonderful weekend.
