Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
This week in Reception, we dived into the fascinating world of underwater life, starting with the colourful coral reef. We explored the creatures that live there, learning fun facts about clownfish, seahorses, and other marine life. Each of us created our own coral reef picture, carefully labelling the animals and plants we had learned about. We then turned our attention to freshwater fish, discovering that the rainbow trout is the fastest swimmer, the Atlantic salmon can leap upstream, and the sturgeon is the biggest of them all! In Maths, we learned how to tell the time using the clocks we made ourselves. We practised recognising the short hand for the hour and the long hand for the minutes, and enjoyed showing each other different times on our clocks. The highlight of the week was Celebration Day. We felt so proud as we stood in front of our families to receive our certificates, showing them all we have achieved this year. It was a wonderful way to end the week, filled with learning, creativity and moments to treasure.
