This week in Reception, we dived into new learning adventures! We explored four new sounds: 'j,' 'v,' 'w,' and 'x.' Our jam-tasting session was a hit, with strawberry jam being the clear favourite. During our 'v' circle time, we tried various 'v'egetables like carrot, celery, sweetcorn, spinach, and red pepper. Sorting clothes for different 'weathers' was a fun way to reinforce 'w,' and making treasure maps with 'x' marks the spot brought out everyone's inner pirate.
We took a big step in writing by composing our first sentences featuring tricky words. In maths, we continued our number adventures, mastering the formations of 16, 17, and 18.
Our cultural enrichment this week was extra special. William's dad visited to talk about Scotland, and we tasted delicious shortbread. Alexander's mum shared fascinating Russian traditions, bringing our week to a delightful close.
