On Tuesday 24th September, our U8 squad headed down to Hinchley Woods for Surbiton's 5 aside tournament. Alongside us, we had the hosts Surbiton, Hampton Prep, Ewell Castle, Milbourne Lodge, Claremont Fan, Twickenham Prep and Staines Prep.
After an unbeaten group stage where we scored 8 goals, only conceding 1, we headed into the Cup competition where we faced Claremont Fan. A clinical performance saw us win 4-1, which took us into the final against last year's winners Twickenham Prep, who were determined to keep the trophy for another year.
It was a pulsating final which finished 2-2, meaning we went into a 4a side golden goal extra time scenario, and it was just amazing to see our players come out victorious, after a brilliant pass from Leo setting up William for the match winning goal, his 10th of the afternoon. It was an amazing afternoon of football, and we couldn't have been prouder of the whole squad.
On Saturday 21st September, we took a selection of our Year 2 pupils to Milbourne Lodge for their annual 5 aside football tournament, and I couldn't have been more impressed with our players. We won four out of six matches, which meant we won the Shield, taking it away from Wimbledon Common Prep who had held onto the trophy since 2017! Well done to all the players, it's exciting to see so much talent coming through the school.
As you will have seen from our two tournament wins this week, sport is in a really good place, as it's not just big events that have been going well, but fixtures too, as we had a clean sweep against for our U8A-Cs against both The Mall and Twickenham Prep. Our U11A and B teams came away with two convincing wins at Ibstock Place.
That's without even being able to unleash our netball teams who unfortunately missed their first game of the season against Prospect House, being postponed due to the weather. Their chance will hopefully come very soon!
Next week we have Harrodian as opposition, and our Year 1 boys and girls will taste their first match day experience at Milbourne Lodge, with both football and netball fixtures on offer. The netball matches will also feature our Year 2 girls, so that's going to be a really exciting morning of sport. As a department we can't wait to see them all in action.
Have a lovely weekend, and if you're playing sport, good luck!

Thank you to all of those parents, friends and family members who have already sponsored many of our pupils. You have until Thursday 10th to hand in your sponsorship money, so lots of time left.
We are really excited about having Olympic Sprinter Victoria Ohuruogu come to the school, I think it's going to be a great morning, and she will be the second Olympian to visit us after Dimitri Coutya, a Great British, two-time gold medallist Paralympian from the Paris 2024 Games popped in on Monday for a brilliant assembly.
There's so much to look forward to over the next couple of weeks!
