Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
This week in English, we’ve been experimenting with different sentence types and used them to write a balanced argument on whether poaching should be allowed as part of our "Danny champion of the world' that we have been reading– lots of strong opinions and clever ideas! In Maths, we’ve been mastering partitioning to make adding and subtracting numbers quicker and more accurate – our number skills are really growing!
Our Geography our UK roadtrip planning is well underway! We’ve chosen our first and final destinations in the UK and explained why we can’t wait to visit them – it’s been so exciting planning our routes. In History, we travelled back in time to the Roman era, ordering key events on the timeline and exploring some of the most important moments in detail. In Science, we became mini engineers, testing different materials to see which is the best insulator and learning why keeping our homes insulated is so important.
PSHE lessons had us teaming up and roleplaying helpful behaviours. Finally, in Classics, we began learning verb endings and practised using them correctly when talking about family members – a tricky but fun challenge!
Have a great weekend!
