Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
It was yet another busy week for year 3. We have continued to explore the topic of Number in maths, looking at negative numbers, ordering numbers and rounding numbers as well as learning the 3 times table song to the catchy tune of “Uptown Funk”! It is linked to the children’s google classroom so they can listen and practise it at home too. In English we finished our colourful story maps of The Trojan Horse and presented them to the class with great confidence. We followed this up in a joint drama session where we created a large group freeze frame of a scene from the Trojan Horse story and began to prepare our own mini freeze frames to present next week. History has seen us exploring the different ancient Greek gods and goddesses, using our chrome books to research their attributes and symbols, as well as making posters about some famous ancient Greeks. In science we moved onto our topic about the body and we looked at the digestive system and simulated the digestion in our first visit to the science lab, with plastic bags, crackers and soda to represent the stomach’s digestive juices - it got rather squidgy!
We wish you all a pleasant weekend.
