Nursery
We had a fantastic week in nursery, filled with creativity, curiosity, and lots of team work.
The children were delighted to be introduced to Mat Man this week. Together, we built him piece by piece, learning about the importance of each body part. The catchy Mat Man song quickly became a class favourite, with the children singing along enthusiastically. This group activity also gave us a wonderful opportunity to see how well the children are beginning to work together and form bonds with their peers.
As we continued our all about me topic the children created their self portraits using mirrors to study their features. They were encouraged to notice where their eyes, mouth, nose and hair are placed. Each child carefully selected the appropriate colours for their eyes and hair. The results are very expressive and individual.
Each child was introduced to the initial letter sound of their name. They explored how the letter sounds and traced around the out line before decorating their own letter. It was wonderful to see the children making connections between letters and their own identities.
Our newly themed Autumn tough tray has been a big hit filled with leaves, twigs, conkers, and woodland animals. It has inspired lots of imaginative play, story- telling and role play followed by some beautiful leaf printing using different autumnal colour paint.
We’re so pleased with how well the children are settling into nursery life.
Warm regards
Mrs Boyd, Mrs Mahmoud and Mrs Winter.
