Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
As promised in last week's addition of the newsletter, I will start with a report of the U10 and U11 tournaments at Hampton and Surbiton Prep. Both were tough, but I was really pleased with the effort from the U11 squad who managed to get to the Semi Final of the plate competition, beaten by a strong RGS Guildford side in extra time. There were loads of highlights, but some of the saves made by Charlie T in goal were outstanding, and they certainly kept us in a number of games.
The U10s competition was a straight forward group stage format, and we did well to come 3rd, but on another day we could well have managed a couple more wins. With a number of Year 4 boys in the squad, this will serve as great experience for them, seeing just how competitive U10 football can be.
This week has seen the start of our fixtures, and what a week it has been. Matches against Fulham, The Mall, Ewell Castle and a joint netball training session with The Hurlingham has kept everyone very busy, and with more exciting fixtures just around the corner, the fun will just keep on rollling.
Have a great weekend.
