Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
We have had such a busy and exciting week in Reception! The children were introduced to three new Black Cat sounds – 'p', 'i', and 'n'. To bring these to life, we painted bright and happy paper plate pigs for p, carried out a magical ink experiment for i (the children loved watching the colours spread and mix!), and even enjoyed tasting a selection of fruits beginning with p. There were plenty of smiles, and a few new favourites discovered along the way!
In Maths, we went on two more of our wonderful number adventures, meeting number 3 and number 4. The children practised forming the numbers carefully and used unifix cubes to build their very own number models – it was fantastic to see their confidence growing as they explored what each number means.
A highlight of the week was welcoming Reed’s mummy, who came in to talk to us about Singapore. The children were fascinated to hear about life in another country and had lots of thoughtful questions. We are so grateful to her for sharing such an exciting experience with us.
What a lovely week of learning, exploring, and discovering together!
