Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
Wow! What an amazing trip! Who knew there were so many things you could do on water? We squeezed into wetsuits and had enormous fun steering and racing on kayaks, paddleboards and pedalos, making our own rafts, which floated and mostly held together, and generally working in teams to learn new skills and get thoroughly soaked. Some challenges were tricky at first but perseverance and performing together paid off and a wonderful time was had. And that was just on the water. Life on the campsite was almost as much fun. Sharing tents with our friends was so exciting and there was free time to run about outside in the evening sunshine. We even had a talent contest to which every single person contributed with flair and imagination. We knew it was time to come home when we were totally exhausted - but can't wait for next year!
Back at school we made aliens from nets in our 3D work, looked at Star Carr, the extraordinary mesolithic site in Yorkshire and composed brilliant Kenning poems. We assembled for the mighty whole school photo which we will be able to see soon and keep forever as a lovely reminder of the Willington years!
Have a relaxing weekend.
