Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
What a brilliant week we’ve had in Reception! Our Ocean topic took us deeper into the sea as we learned all about whales and dolphins. The children were fascinated to discover that these incredible creatures are mammals, just like us. They impressed us with their fantastic writing, sharing amazing facts about these animals. We also explored the world of sharks and discussed how they are different from whales and dolphins.
In Maths, we focused on counting in 5s and 10s. The children used their hands and feet to help them, and we made colourful paper chains to practise counting in 5s. They really enjoyed spotting patterns and showing off their number knowledge.
The highlight of our week was our incredible trip to Chessington World of Adventures! The children took part in the engaging ‘On the Beach’ workshop, journeyed through the Zufari safari, and had a splash on the Gruffalo River Ride. It was a day full of adventure, learning, and joy.
We are so proud of how brilliantly the children represented our school. Their behaviour was exemplary, and they showed kindness, curiosity, and enthusiasm throughout the day. Well done, Reception – what a wonderful week!
We wish all of our dads a Happy Father's Day!
