Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
Finally, we finished the book “Clockwork” by Philip Pullman and found that a character turned from a robot to a real person. In Drama we had lots of fun writing a script for the end of the book. In maths we did word problems with measurements and fractions. We love how we learnt about features of carnivores, omnivores and herbivores and we learnt a way to remember what they mean. We also learnt the seven life processes using the acronym “MRS GREN”.
In history we looked at historical sources (primary and secondary) and sorted them. We had lots of fun in geography making models of the Earth out of modeling clay with all the layers. In RS we wrote prayers using our five fingers to guide each thing we prayed for.
In art we really enjoyed drawing jellyfish with oil pastels and posca pens. Carrying on with the theme “sea life” this week we drew coral reefs inspired by the artist Yellena James. In computing we practised touch typing and logo. We enjoyed our music lesson where we did auditions for the song “You will be found”. We are also proud of everyone who took part in the summer recital. In Spanish we started a new topic on classroom objects and we are going to learn how to say “I have” and “I don’t have”.
