Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
It has been another exciting week for our sports teams, with plenty of action and impressive performances across the board. We are delighted to announce that our U11 tennis squad have progressed to the next round of the Surrey League after defeating King's College, a fantastic achievement that reflects their hard work and dedication on the court. As winners of the U10 competition last year, we are still on track to retain our trophy. Our next match will be against Amesbury School.
Meanwhile, our Years 3-6 tennis squad took part in a triangular fixture against Cranmore and King’s. The event was a great success, with our pupils displaying excellent sportsmanship and skill throughout. It was wonderful to see so much emerging talent coming through the school, promising a bright future for our tennis teams.
On the cricket pitch, both our U10 and U11 squads faced Homefield in a series of competitive fixtures. The matches were played in great spirit, and as always, the games were tightly contested, with three of the four games being decided in the last over.
Looking ahead, our U8-U11 athletics squad are heading to Harrodian today for their annual athletics competition. We wish them the very best of luck and look forward to hearing all about their performances.
Well done to all our pupils for their enthusiasm and commitment—your efforts continue to make us proud!
Have a great weekend.
