Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
It's hard to believe that we have embarked on the final half term of the year, which will no doubt race away in a whirl of busyness! The children returned full of tales of holidays and outings, but were quickly getting stuck in to our our new topics and themes.
In Maths, we were back looking at measurement of length and mass, and solving associated word problems. The children were full of enthusiasm and excitement in our English lessons, as we spent the week creating autobiographies. The children chose the aspects of their lives they wanted to include, and illustrated their books with photographs and drawings. We are so impressed with the work they produced!
In Science, we concluded our topic on plants by understanding the difference between evergreen and deciduous trees, while in History, we kicked off our new topic on castles with a lesson on William the Conqueror. Our focus in Geography is jungles, and we enjoyed locating different types of jungle on a world map.
A highlight of the week was attending the Whole School Art Exhibition and showing our families our wonderful creations. Thank you to Miss Beere for organising such a brilliant occasion.
Have a lovely weekend!
