With only seven more sleeps until the end of term, we had a fantastic conclusion to the week with our amazing Christmas Fair. Such an event doesn't come together by chance, so a huge thank you goes out to all the parents who helped on the stalls, and especially to our remarkable team from POW, who, despite being small in numbers, have once again gone above and beyond to create magic. Thank you so very much.
The week started with a touch of French elegance, as Year 4 experienced what it's like to visit a real French café—albeit in the art room—where they could order their favourite snacks from a French menu. Mlle Veloso, along with her colleagues, did a fantastic job of transforming the room to create a truly special atmosphere. There was a certain 'je ne sais quoi' that I'm sure the children thoroughly enjoyed, along with the delicious pain au chocolat!
Though the festive fun is well underway, spare a thought for our Year 6 boys, who are diligently working on their exams and interviews. The end is in sight, and with just one or two more weeks of perseverance, I'm confident they will have done fantastically well. Despite their busy schedules, Year 6 still managed a trip to Painshill Park this week, and next week they are off to Box Hill for my annual re-enactment of the Battle of Stirling Bridge—something I can’t wait for!
There's so much to look forward to, and a significant highlight will be the Year 1-6 Christmas Service next Tuesday evening at St John’s Church. The children have been rehearsing relentlessly, and we look forward to welcoming many of you there. Please refer to the ‘dates and reminders’ section of this newsletter for all the details you'll need for this busy and exciting final week.
Have a wonderful weekend. KB
