We cannot believe it is Friday again! The weeks are racing by! In Drama this week we have been focusing on our vocal work and how to use different techniques to express emotions. Mrs Battey has kept us busy in English this week using informal language to write a letter as Stanley, the main character in our class book Holes, as well as reviewing our reading comprehension techniques. In Science, we looked at an experiment that did not go according to plan but led to the invention of sticky notes. This highlighted the importance of recording the results of scientific investigations, whether or not they go as planned! In Latin, we have been revising present tense verb endings and the verb to be, which Ms Henson said would help us form hundreds of different verbs! Mr Wildman has worked us hard this week as we completed two practice papers(!), and revised the 'tick system' technique in order to be ruthless with our time during an exam. We then spent the rest of our lessons revising calculating with fractions (using 'Keep, Change, Flip' for dividing fractions but also remembering there are other methods). In French we have been talking about different types of houses, identifying different rooms and writing a paragraph to describe our own house. In Humanities we have been comparing the similarities and differences between different ancient civilizations (such a architecture, art, and money) and in Geography we have started exploring how extreme weather occurs. Phew!
