This week in Year 4, we have had an exciting range of lessons. In English, we delved into a balanced argument based on the story 'Danny and the Champion of the World', discussing the ethics of poaching. Some of us argued against poaching due to its detrimental effects on wildlife and ecosystems.
In Science, we investigated how heat energy transfers from warmer to cooler areas. A fascinating experiment involved immersing our hands in two different temperatures of water, illustrating how our bodies can be deceived since they aren’t precise thermometers.
In Maths, our focus was on partitioning numbers to enhance our skills in addition and subtraction. This method helps us break down numbers into more manageable chunks for easier calculations.
Geography lessons were centred around understanding the various climates around the world. We discovered that the UK has a temperate climate.
In History, we explored the vast expanse of the Roman Empire, learning about the extensive land they conquered across the globe.
Classics lessons involved continuing our translation exercises, converting Latin texts into English to improve our language skills.
Finally, in RE, we reflected on representing Jesus and engaging in creative discussions.
Happy weekend, see you on Monday!
